Born in Bulgaria and later living in Portugal before settling in the UK, Svetlana writes from a rich multilingual background, speaking Bulgarian, English, Russian, and Portuguese. She graduated with First-Class Honours in Computer Science during the height of COVID-19, a period that demanded exceptional resilience — the same resilience she quietly carries into her creative work while living with a complex neurological and physical condition. Determined rather than defined by her challenges, Svetlana believes deeply in perseverance, kindness, and the quiet strength found in imagination. Alongside over a decade of experience supporting UK families as a nanny, she brings a rare blend of empathy, cultural depth, and emotional intuition to every story she writes. Through her independent publishing initiative, Whimsy Quills, she is reimagining children’s literature as a space where wisdom, wonder, and hope grow side by side.
